Delete your account
Last updated: August 27, 2026
You can delete your Ketzie account, and every piece of data attached to it, from inside the app at any time. No email, no waiting period, no support ticket. This page walks through the steps, spells out what is erased, and covers what to do if you can’t get into the app.
Delete your account from the app
- Open Ketzie and go to Settings → Profile.
- Make sure you’re signed in — the delete option only appears for a signed-in account. (Never signed in? See If you never signed in below.)
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm Delete your account? The dialog reminds you that this erases your cloud backup, your sign-in identity and passkeys, and everything on the device — and that it can’t be undone.
Deletion runs immediately. When it finishes, the app returns to a fresh, signed-out state, as if it had just been installed. If a step fails partway — no network, say — nothing on your device is removed, and you can simply try again.
“Sign out & reset this device” is not deletion. That option keeps your cloud backup so you can sign back in later. Only Delete account removes your data from our servers.
What gets deleted
- Your synced financial data — the encrypted copy of your accounts, balances, pay schedule, bills, and settings held on our servers for cross-device sync, together with any end-to-end-encryption key material registered for your account.
- Your sign-in identity — your passkeys, any one-time sign-in codes, the link between your email address and your account, and the account record itself. If you signed in with Google or Apple, only the link to Ketzie is removed; your Google or Apple account is untouched.
- Your bank connections — every institution you linked is disconnected: access at our bank-data provider (Plaid) is revoked, Ketzie stops receiving anything from those accounts, and our record of the connection — which institution, which accounts — is deleted.
- Everything on this device — the local encrypted database is wiped.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery window and no backup we can restore from.
What isn’t affected
- Statements you imported were never stored — each one is processed to propose your bills and then discarded, so there is nothing left to delete. See How bill identification works.
- Anonymous usage analytics. The coarse, count-level usage events described in the privacy policy are tagged with a random identifier created on your device, never with your account, so they can’t be tied back to you and aren’t part of account deletion. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings.
- Operational logs. Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (request timestamps, error messages) for up to 30 days. They never contain your financial data.
- Subscriptions. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is managed by Apple or Google, and deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings — before or after deleting, in either order.
- Other devices. If you were signed in on another phone, its sign-in stops working. Any data already stored on that device stays there until you delete the app from it.
If you never signed in
Ketzie works without an account. If you never signed in, your financial data lives only on your device, and deleting the app deletes it. The one thing that exists off your device is an anonymous identifier the app registers when first opened; it holds no personal or financial information and can’t be tied to you.
If you can’t use the app
If you no longer have the app, can’t sign in, or the in-app deletion keeps failing, email privacy@ketzie.com from the address you used to sign in (for Google or Apple sign-in, the email on that account). We’ll verify the request is yours, delete the account and everything listed above, and confirm by reply — within 30 days, usually much sooner.
